Tucson has a “season” as the locals call it. From October through May, the weather just cannot be beat and most of the time, during these months, you “can’t swing a cat” without hitting a local event, festival, concert, farmer’s market or fundraiser in Tucson. Of course, once summer descends and the snowbirds fly home to cooler climates, the locals crawl under rocks to stay cool. (Summer events can be found of course, for the hearty, the Tucson summer scene offers warm evening events such as dark sky star gazing, nighttime sports and of course, supporting our restaurants and retailers through their slow season is fun.)
There are several great websites that offer listings of things to do in Tucson on any given day or night. Here is a list of some of the best resources to help you fill your calendar with things to do (for the whole family!)
In addition the University of Arizona, in the heart of Tucson, offers a wide variety of activities, events, exhibits, concerts, lectures and museums on its campus. A Master Calendar of all UofA activities can be found here. While on the campus, be sure to patronize the many shops and restaurants in the Main Gate area or ride the Modern Streetcar to the 4th Avenue District, Downtown District or the amazing El Mercado.
